The catholic chaplaincy of the University of Toamasina exists since 1985. It is dedicated to the pastoral education of the catholic students. The education includes: preaching the Gospel, helping the students to accomplish the duties God has laid on them with faith.

The Chaplaincy is called Ny Akany soa navela. It is situated next to the University and comprises a chapel, a reading room, a library and the chaplain’s office.
